What are your thoughts on books that have been turned into movies or television shows. Do you prefer to see the show then read the book, or the opposite?
For me, I love to read. So, often, I get excited about new movies and shows that are based on books. However, with some of them I didn't get the chance to read the book before hand and end up reading it because I can't stand not knowing what's going to happen. It urks me... What about you guys?

I don't read. SO naturally I like the movies way better mainly because I find reading them not as fun. I don't visualize stuff so it's easier to watch the movie play out rather than trying to play it out in your head.

Most of the movies that are based on books that I've seen recently, I had no idea they were books beforehand... for example, The Maze Runner. My boyfriend and I initially just went to see that because we were taking his daughter and her cousin out for a movie, totally expecting not to really like the movie, but ended up loving it. And then I found out it was a book series later. Same with the Divergent series. As for wanting to read the books that haven't yet been made into a movie... I'm not sure. In the case of Game of Thrones (which I'm reading the book series now, at the beginning of the third book), I think I would have liked to read the books first, just so I would have been more prepared for some of the brutally harsh scenes. But at the same time, I like that I didn't know because then I don't see it coming and the scene has more of an impact. So I guess I'm a little torn on if I prefer to read the book or watch the movie/show first.

Honestly not a big fan. Whenever there's a movie based on a book that I haven't read*, I feel bad about watching it before reading the book. However I already have a huuuuuge list of books I'm waiting to read, so that just means that I pretty much never get to it.
*On the off chance I have read it, I usually find that movies just don't compare. I prefer keeping the two mediums separate.

I think that is the only way I'd ever have time to get it done.

I love reading books that are also movies, but I have been disappointed by some movies that were based on books, due to how the director decided to change things around.

I like the ones such as Hunger Games, Potter, Twilight etc. I find it difficult to read books though.

I usually read the books first unless they are really long. If they are, I watch just the movie. xD
