I can only speak to why mine is about games, and I hope I don't ramble.
I wanted a place to talk about games on a forum that was a forum and community first and not an extension of something else, and I wanted the community to be friendly and welcoming to all walks of life. You can go to Reddit and talk about games, but everything is either spread out or too general. General games discussion is mostly funny pictures related to games, or the text equivalent, without it being a community. Or you go to your specific game, which is as close to a community as the platform allows, but you'd have to do that with every game you play, spreading out the userbase. If you go to a place like IGN or Giant Bomb for their forums you get a community, but it's through their culture, which doesn't mean it's bad, but if you're not a fan of the base site you probably won't have a great time. And finally, the general online gaming presence is sometimes not the most positive. That's just something I really dislike about my hobby online, feeling unwelcome right from the start.
Realizing I didn't have something fitting that criteria, I decided to make the forums I would want to be a part of.
I hope that answers your question!

Very nice OMDO! I really like the simplistic look you have going on there, it's very inviting as well, without going overboard. I may join, although I'm more of a casual gamer, but it still looks like you'd have some stuff that would interest me there. Thank you for adding your site to our directory and I wish you the best of luck!

A quick update!
Total Posts: 272 Total Topics: 111 Total Users: 21
Some cool things have happened since I last updated! We've got over 200 posts, over 100 topics, and over 20 users! We're averaging about 6 posts per day, 2.5 topics per day, and about half a user per day. We had our first person outside of myself reach Level 2, our second post rank. For anyone wondering, I'd be a Level 3. Speaking of Ranks, I made some .pngs for everything up to Level 5, and I'll make more as I see people getting closer. I'm also trying to figure out how I want to use the points system, currently called Gp, in a forum shop setting and what people would want to spend that "money" on. Other than that, it's been smooth sailing, with some steady, if slow, growth and a lot of potential!
