So, today I was inspired to create two additional "hats" for my Christmas smileys on my forum  I'd had them all fitted in Santa hats originally and I kept a third of them in those, but I wanted to change it up a little this year. So I added antlers and elf hats to the mix.  Here they are: I'm actually quite proud of these, especially the elf hat, which was difficult to make in such a limited space. The antlers are my favorite though!
Also, might as well post my Halloween set too, they are the same smileys, with Halloween-ish costumes |

Those are amazing! Wish I'd thought about that sooner, woulda asked you if you could do a set for Pet Haven (Maybe next year ) |

Wow those are so CUTE!!! Gosh... how long did it take for you to design those? I remember once I created a set of UBBC images pixel by pixel... it took forever but I was quite proud of them. The person I was collaborating with at the time said I could change anything I want on the forum so I did and made it look really cool and she agreed and complimented all the customizations I did (including those). The very next day she changed the entire theme (at the time Proboards did not have the option to have multiple skins) I was sooooo mad. lol Needless to say I have never tried that again or even mess with smileys. haha

I think overall it took me about 15-20 minutes to create the actual antlers and elf hat, not very long for the antlers, but it took longer for me to get the elf hat the way I wanted it, because of how small they are. (they were made pixel by pixel also) I'd already had the smileys created previously though so all I had to do was open them and add in the antlers/elf hats. And trust me, I completely understand about the pixel by pixel UBBC icons! I've done the same thing and that is one reason I haven't changed out my UBBC icons since. Haha. Except for recoloring them to match the lite theme I made awhile back. But yeah, pixel art is incredibly tedious and time-consuming, but I love that proud feeling of accomplishment when you look at the finished result!  |
