I've always liked fantasy, science fiction, horror/thriller/suspense, and mystery. Those have always been my favorite. I can stray from those genres as long as it is something that keeps me interested but it doesn't happen very often.

Nice jennyoralice, I'm much the same considering the straying from my favorites part. If it keeps my interest for at least the first 50 pages, I'll keep reading. My favorites are the same as yours, with romance, historical fiction, and the literary classics as well. Sometimes I like to read the classics just to see how much writing has changed from the time period whatever I'm reading was written. I'll occasionally venture out and read an informational type book also, but I really have to be in the right mood to do that. Usually the ones I read like that have to do with writing though. |

I can read a romance once in a while but I don't read them very often. The same goes for historical fiction and maybe an autobiography/biography.
If you can only read one genre, which one would you pick?
