Do you like stand-up comedy? Who are your favorites?
Also, have you ever been to a live show before? What was your experience like?
For me personally, I love to laugh, so yes I love stand-up comedy! Our cable company's On-Demand has a section devoted solely to comedy shows and sometimes we go through and watch a random one, before even knowing who the comedian is. That's how we have discovered some of the best funny people.
My favorites are Trevor Noah, Hal Sparks, Jeff Dunham, Christopher Titus (although the way his recent beliefs are going, maybe not so much anymore), Dane Cook (though I liked him more several years ago), Ron White, Rodney Carrington (he's actually a pretty good singer also, love his "songs"), and Jose Sarduy.
As for a live comedy show, yes, I took my boyfriend to see Christopher Titus when he was in the area about 3 years ago as a birthday present. Titus is actually from Fremont, which is about a little over an hour away from us and my boyfriend has always liked him a lot. So it was the perfect present for him. The comedy club he was performing at also provided dinner as well, and we ate at a long table filled with the rest of the audience and talked with the people around us a bit before the show started. It was great, we were really close to the stage as well and my boyfriend interacted with Christopher a bit at some parts.
It was a great experience (I'd never been to a live comedy show before either) and I would love to go to another one. There was a show that Jeff Dunham (the ventriloquist comedian) was doing out here and I really wanted to surprise the boyfriend with tickets because we both love him, but they were entirely too expensive. Like $300-$400 per seat. It was disappointing.
