For all the graphic artists out there... where does your inspiration come from? When you start a new project, what's involved in your creative process? Do you plan out your idea? Or do you come up with ideas as you go? I look forward to your answers! I always find it interesting to learn what motivates other designers.

I try to plan my ideas out and then go for it. However, as of late, it seems as though I more so plan as I go. I'm constantly changing my mind on what I want to do. I'm so indecisive lately (LOL). With graphics, I have a project and I'm building graphics for that project, the Harry Potter one. I've pushed my limits a great deal with the project and the graphics. The inspiration for the project actually came from a previous project as well as Reverie Battle of the Houses contest on her general discussion forum. I was like, "Yay, Harry Potter! Sign me up!" So, not only did I sign up, I decided to start an HP project. And, with the help of Azayles and synthtec, this is going to be something that ProBoards has never seen. Truly, a one of a kind project!

I get my inspiration from my father. He does computer art and painting, I also get my inspiration from other net artist too like Kidmograph from Tumblr or httpster.net for website design show case looks.
I plan my ideas in my head and hold them for awhile till, I get the time to start working on it.

I plan my ideas in my head and hold them for awhile till, I get the time to start working on it. Aw, that's awesome that you get inspiration from someone in your immediate family. I guess I could say I get some inspiration from my aunt, who's a painter. But I don't really paint that much, I want to get into it though, as I do have some art supplies leftover from a previous art class I took in college. My main inspiration comes from my interests though. A TV show or movie that I'm passionate about, or certain recreational activities. And even though I consider myself a planner in other aspects, I don't plan out ideas when designing, things just come as I'm working on it.

I tend to do off an idea and run full force into the design and plan as I go. For inspiration I like browsing sites and forums for colors that I like and then find ways to make them into a theme.

I am a little different. i tend not to plan the graphics out, as i am working on something ill tend to change my idea on how i want it to look as i am doing it, so just do it as i go a long, but if i am doing a request for someone else then that is different.

When I do any type of art whether it's digital, oil pastels, or even creative writing... I am inspired greatly on how I feel. I guess my emotions drive my creative juices. When I don't have any strong feeling I am probably not doing any type of art as I don't tend to feel very inspired. Of course everyday life influences my emotions and therefore ultimately influences my art. A few weeks ago I was feeling pretty upset about how so many "Americans" have so many negative things to say about refugees, immigrants, etc. ...but no one was really stepping up to say that they are proud to be an American and no one seemed to want to 'inspire' people to BECOME American citizens legally and they just have this whole... if you weren't born here get out type mentality. After brooding over this for a couple of hours I decided I was tired of feeling frustrated about it so I drew an American Bald Eagle in front of American flag.

My inspiration usually arises from necessity, and client request. Meaning, I make what my client has requested of me, and then I throw in creativity from there. When I need that creative twist or something to make my design really pop I usually browse the internet for really awesome things that capture what I'm trying to express and then incorporate that into my current work

Inspiration can literally come from anywhere, be it family, music, or a crack in the sidewalk. Guerrilla Advertising
