This thread is for you to tell us what is the worst laptop brand you've ever used. Feel free to share your stories as to why you feel that way!
I personally think Dell is the worst brand. I'm about to buy another Dell laptop, so obviously I haven't learned my lesson. :/ This computer is really slow, the battery life is terrible, and it over heats way too fast. The keyboard has broken, the hinges to the screen are broke, and the touchpad buttons don't work either. :/

Wow, how old is it? How often do you transport it other places besides your home? I bought my first ever laptop when I was 18 and it was a Dell and was awesome. I think it lasted me at least 2 years, if not more, and I never had any of those hardware issues you're describing.
I'd have to go with HP, simply because of an issue I had with them when the motherboard fried on my laptop, and they tried to tell me that they couldn't do anything to help because of a tiny little frayed part of the charging cable that had been knicked by something. Then, after a lot of frustration, they wanted me to send the laptop in to them and pay a significant amount over what the laptop was even worth to get it fixed. Needless to say, I have never bought another HP product since then, and I never will.

I don't think there is a worst or best brand. Depends on the laptop, how you treat it, and how up to date the specs are. I would rather buy a high end laptop at first as it is more likely to stay up to date if it has newer hardware.

Then, after a lot of frustration, they wanted me to send the laptop in to them and pay a significant amount over what the laptop was even worth to get it fixed. Needless to say, I have never bought another HP product since then, and I never will. I've had generally OK experience with HP computers (I've owned two in the past) ...but the thing that annoyed me to no end was the fact that buttons tend to pop off on those keyboards. For that reason alone I haven't considered HP again. The worst laptop brand (or computer brand in general) in my opinion would be Lenovo. I was helping my co-worker set up his printer wirelessly with his Lenovo laptop and couldn't get it to connect. I was able to connect an HP Printer fine but the Epson just would not show up on the network for some reason. I tried calling Epson and they said it had something to do with the computer not the printer. So I called Lenovo. Lenovo told me that it must be the router that's the issue and I told them that I was able to connect another printer fine so that's not the problem and that Epson told me that it was on the computer end. They escalated my issue and the representative tried to tell me that I had to give them my credit card information because the support I needed will require them to control my computer from their end to fix the issue. I told him that I can do it myself if they just walk me through what I need to do and they insisted that I pay. My co-worker was ready to pay the $60 charge but I told him no. I hung up went to Best Buy and bought a $15 printer cable instead as my co-worker didn't plan on moving away from his desk much anyway when he uses the computer. The fact that Lenovo has to outsource their customer support and users have to pay to resolve something that should be plug in play turned me off so much.

For me, personally it's Acer. Everytime I've had one or a friend had one it has been really bad.
