Do you prefer to make your own forum themes or purchase/download premade ones?
Personally, I love to create my own. That is especially true when I make a ProBoards forum. I've not really dabbled in the design aspects of other softwares, though.

I prefer to make my own as well. And I've only used PB, never had the desire to branch out, I guess. I will say though, it's incredibly time-consuming for me, because I like to create every single thing, down to the tiniest of icons.. otherwise it just doesn't really feel like my own. That's probably also why it took me so long to get to V3 on my forum.

Personally i usually just use the default design and just make a few modifications to it If i had the skills and knowledge to design then i would definately make my own

I mean I could....but then no one would join due to the horrificness of the theme itself. I usually just download themes and edit them from there, I have basic understanding of CSS and Google's inspect element is pretty fancy so that is pretty much my main tool. I'm pretty known for editing other peoples themes for my own site, I did however make a dark theme for ProBoards that many people loved when v5 first came out and a few others that I made but looking back on them I have no idea why people liked them.

LOL ... I think we have similar design skills Thomasss I might as well just leave the Inspect Element function open all time Dave

I like to take pre-made themes and alter them to my liking, turning them into a custom theme. I'll always leave a link back to the theme creator at the bottom though since they still did a majority of the work.

Yes I do. Not only do I make custom forum themes, I also make custom plugins as well, for myBB, and Wordpress. Impressive eh?

I'm not really the best with these kinds of things but in the future, I'd like to create my own themes.

You have to make sure that the pre made theme, at least has to do with your forum

I usually purchase one and make tweaks, although I've recently gotten into theme design. It's fun! More so in designing than coding though.

I've created a few, but that was on Invisionfree. I am in no way talented enough to do it anymore and would rather use a premade or a custom made
