If you had to recommend a graphic design program for a beginner, which would you recommend and why?
I'd recommend Adobe Photoshop because of its easy to use interface. Add in the fact that there are thousands of great tutorials out there for Photoshop users and that's another reason I'd recommend it. It isn't hard to use and really easy to learn.

I would have to agree the photoshop is an amazing program to use. You do not have to spend the money and get the latest software either you can go to your local used bookstores or search on Amazon for older models such as Adobe Photoshop 7.0.
If you're looking for a free software GIMP is also a nice alternative. It's not as intuitive as Photoshop but there are many tutorials available AND there are many plugins available for download depending on what you actually want to do with the software.

This is how I make my signatures and other images. I didn't have the money to get Photoshop when I got the computer, but I was very comfortable using Gimp on every other one I've used. It's a good program that doesn't cost a cent.

I used tool that you recommended in more years and its really useful to create graphics or templates for websites But I also like using Corel draw for creating logos, images generated from it always really sharpen and cool.
