As I said in my introductory thread, I'm a class-A idiot when it comes to coding and skinning a PB-hosted forum. I would love to make a new theme for the board I run, but I'm not sure how I can do that if I can't figure out CSS. I don't want to make minor tweaks to what's already presented to me.
Where did you guys learn how to do coding and whatnot? Pointers for the inexperienced?

Experience comes exactly from that "experience" ! If you are looking for a quick fix, why not hire a member on here to help you ? If you want to learn, it will take time. In my honest opinion NO school will show you how, schools(and youtube) are FAR behind the tech and their teaching of it!

I'm in the process of writing a "course" for PBers that will teach you how to design and customize PB forums. This will include introducing users to the PB ACP, HTML and CSS... Other courses will follow. |

I'm in the process of writing a "course" for PBers that will teach you how to design and customize PB forums. This will include introducing users to the PB ACP, HTML and CSS... Other courses will follow. You are a major godsend. I've seen other tutorials, and all they do is color code things for the other experts. Drives me crazy. |

Other courses will follow. You are a major godsend. I've seen other tutorials, and all they do is color code things for the other experts. Drives me crazy. This will be an actual course. There will be pre-recorded videos and text to read, home work assignments, tests, quizzes, final project, etc. I'll also be available for live chat, (video and audio) through the course platform, two nights per week when it launches. It will run for approximately ten weeks from the time it starts. I' just finishing things up. It will cost forum currency to take the courses as I've put a LOT of time into it. I can have up to 50 students in a course at a time and it will be taught using CourseSites by BlackBoard. |
