So, until recently, I've been using shared hosting through either Godaddy or iPage. A friend introduced me to VPS and set up one of my sites on his server! Personally, I love it. It is especially nice with Wordpress sites as they load ten times faster than one hosted on the standard shared hosting plans. I even bought a VPN to broadcast music for my radio station.
Which do you prefer and why?

VPS. I had nightmares on my old shared hosting account. Basically, my host suspended me because one of my scripts was using up a lot of CPU usage (it was required for my projects). Shortly after, my website loading time was bad. So I switched to a VPS after. I use Digital Ocean at the moment.

it depends on the host, i had a shared on godady that was ok, im on bluehost now with a shared plan but it sucks for speed, the vps costs $30 a month, way too much

It would depend on your budget and who you're hosting with. I used to have a VPS in the past, but now i'm just using shared for my personal websites.

I used Shared Hosting on Inmotion and I have YET to experience a downtime or slowness, so really it depends on the host. I personally don't want to spend all that money on a VPS when Shared Hosting isn't going to hurt the site, ya know?

I've been using GoDaddy as a host for the past few months, it's not great as a host, but the price is appealing to my eyes.

I have been running on shared hosting for a long time and really don't mind it much. I have never had a lot of downtime and the speed is great. I have a couple of free VPS's that I have used for testing and playing around on but never a live site.

I would rather have a VPS then shared hosting. Can you really trust that other person that your sharing with? What if they just suddenly close the hosting account and don't want to pay for it anymore? I would rather have full control of my hosting plan then share it with someone.

Which do you prefer and why? VPS is better if you want to have more resource for your website. Because I have never used VPS, I go for Shared Hosting. It suits people like me more.

VPS is much widely used in these day as it is cheaper in cost as compared to others.
