My favorite forum software would be mybb.
I like the mybb support and not to mention the amazing plugins it offer. Except for the look and feel, I like everything about mybb. It's really good and provides what we need.
What about you guys? What if you favorite forum software and why?

Personally im torn between PHPBB and Proboards.
Although the support at phpBB could be better and more user friendly.

I've always been a fan of ProBoards. Though, I've used myBB and I like the moderator and admin side of it. It's a bit more functional. As far as customization and plugins, I'd vote ProBoards any day. Plus it's really easy to use.

Same here, I've always been a fan of Proboards over the others. I think I played around with mybb several years ago when setting up a forum for a group of people I attended a "life" seminar with, so that we could still keep in touch afterwards (this was before social networking became so popular) but I still liked the admin side of PB much better, simply because it was less dependent on having a lot of coding experience.

Definitely Proboards! Love it so much. I used to be a major vbulliten fan but not so much anymore. besides vbulliten charges to have a site AND you have to host it on your own server, which I have no idea how to do. This is why Proboards is so awesome. Free Forums for everyone! Most hosts other than proboards had bad customer service and they charge for their forums.
Proboards has some of the best customer service I have ever seen AND their forums are free, which I love.

I most definitely have to agree with this mattyboo1 Having used quite a few forum services in the past those that you need to pay for or host yourself the Support Staff are extremely rude and question why you do things and they make you feel guilty for asking for support. Where as Proboards is the complete opposite the customer service and overall attitude of the staff at Proboards is excellent. They really do go out of their way to help you and regularly go above and beyond what you would expect. Dave |

mybb is sort like FreeForums.org, right! Umm, No. Mybb is a forum Software, and it's very different from phpBB Freeforums.org is a very poor hosted version of phpBB, you can't get really get creative with that. |
