No not really, i show no interest in artificial effects as much as the activity and content.

No glowing usernames, but we DO have a glowing code tag style, which works really well, and suits the ethos of the tag It looks like this :D
It CAN work well if it's done subtly, but that can be tricky to get right. Particularly if different groups have different colours anyway.

That's odd, the glowing doesn't happen on this forum. can't even force it with the !important qualifier. Here's what it SHOULD look like: That effect, I think, would really suit text on a dark background. Could be useful for the Halloween theme

When I owned my forums site I didn't really offer glowing usernames because I always thought it made my website lag.

Using some text-shadows, my usernames glow. Other than that, I don't have any other effect on my usernames. My members names glow as well, it's not just for staff.
