Do you elect a staff member on your forum every month for Employee of The Month? What do you usually look for when choosing who earned the award?

Do you elect a staff member on your forum every month for Employee of The Month? What do you usually look for when choosing who earned the award? I try to. Granted, ours will not be announced until November first for the month of October. Typically, I look at their position and whether or not they're doing their designated job. I look to see if they are helpful to other members, following the rules, and active around the forum by contributions of posts and threads. There are some other little things I consider too, but those are the main ones.

Nopppeeee. I mean, I did. However I don't think electing your staff on the basis of "who was better" is the way to build any kind of confidence or teamwork skills. The way I look at it, if I was to elect Bob for EoTM and the rest of his teammates also did I pretty awesome job, that's literally degrading everything they did. Some argue that it makes people work harder, however in my experience it simply degrades the actual team, and after a while if you don't earn EoTM and you don't have that much patience you're simply going to slow down with the team because you're not being seen as the better employee, ya know? I of course give some kind of complements to the team, however I do it TO the team and not team members specifically. When I ran a forum back in 2013, our staff team worked AS a team on everything, if you had an opinion, it was heard. Everyone worked as one and they were rewarded as one, and that's what built my staffs team teamwork skills up. I never said "Lets pick you because you did awesome!" kind of thing on my own forums. Granted I did it on other forums, however that was their thing and if they wanted to do it, then I participated but I think it's a horrible idea all in all. I can see forums with multiple teams (like here) have Team of the Month, that's a pretty friendly competition and gets the team working even more.
